Of course, you can surprise your (secret) love with a FEBO croquette today, but true romantics pull an oyster from the wall. Added bonus: its aphrodisiac effect. 

At Oesterij in Zeeland, you can eat shellfish and crustaceans at their freshest, tastiest and finest in the country. The farm, located in Yerseke (also known as the oyster capital of the Netherlands), has been around since 1906. And now you can also get this decadent delicacy from the vending machine here. Ooh la la!

Sensual shellfish

Casanova ate oysters for breakfast, so he certainly had a lot to keep (up)holding. Oysters have a reputation as the ultimate aphrodisiac. In other words: eating oysters makes you incredibly horny; put bluntly, it stimulates the sex drive. The high zinc content in the slippery snack leads to increased testosterone and sperm production.

However, the amounts per oyster are so small that you would have to slurp pools full of oysters to feel any real effect – although the slurping of such a sensual shellfish naturally already provides plenty of excitement.

Pull away

A box of 12 oysters costs 9.95 euros. Stock up generously and who knows, you might experience just as wild a night as oysters themselves… And good news: after Valentine’s Day, the vending machine will stay right where it is.
