Beware: Albert Heijn warns of salmonella bacteria in pumpkin seeds
Earlier this week, Albert Heijn already warned about four AH products containing pumpkin seeds. The pumpkin seeds may contain salmonella bacteria. But now Remia has also decided, in consultation with the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, to recall the Remia Salata Croutonmix Italiaans due to possible salmonella contamination of a batch of pumpkin seeds.
Eating these products—with the stated best-before dates—may pose a health risk, especially to young children, older people, those with weakened immune systems and pregnant women.
The following products are affected:
Remia Salata Croutonmix Italiaans with best-before dates 31-08-2022 and 10-07-2022
AH breakfast mulberry goji berry mix, best-before date up to and including 27-2-2022
AH salad seed mix, best-before date up to and including 27-2-2022
AH Italian mix, best-before date up to and including 27-2-2022
AH crouton seed mix, best-before date up to and including 30-1-2022*
The specific AH products are no longer available in stores or on ah.nl. *Please note: this best-before date has already passed, but Albert Heijn states on the packaging: ‘Look, smell and taste after this date’. There is, of course, always a possibility that people still have this product at home and use it.
Refund of the purchase price
Customers are urgently advised not to eat the product and to return it to an Albert Heijn store. When you return the product, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.
