You’re better off having pizza for breakfast than granola

So many conflicting reports about healthy eating are published that we no longer know what to believe. That’s why, in the editorial office, we choose to believe only the reports that make us happy. The news that we’re better off eating pizza for breakfast than cereal is the perfect example of this.

It won’t come as news that many breakfast cereals are packed with sugar. A serving of Frosties contains 18 grams of sugar, while the recommended daily amount of sugar for a woman is 25 grams. A serving of granola contains around 13 grams. Nutritionist Chelsea Armer therefore came up with a very unusual alternative in The Daily Mail: a slice of pizza.

Pizza: a balanced option

According to the expert, it contains more fat and less sugar, meaning you won’t experience a sugar crash. Pizza contains more protein and carbohydrates and, with a bit of luck, you might even get some vegetables in. It still isn’t exactly healthy, but according to Chelsea, it is a more balanced option. We’ll happily sign up for that.
