Film: The Avocado Show

In England, the avocado was recently banned from a restaurant because it is anything but sustainable, while at The Avocado Show, crates of them can’t be brought in fast enough. How can this still be done as responsibly as possible? You’ll soon see it on film.

Avocado toast, roses and smoothies are so popular that illegal deforestation is taking place to make room for avocado plantations. Not to mention the 320 litres of water needed to grow an avocado. Does that toast taste just a little less delicious now?

Ron Simpson and Julien Zaal, owners of the Amsterdam restaurant The Avocado Show, are currently busy working on a film in which they search for the most responsible way to grow avocados. If all goes according to plan, the film will be available to watch online from January 2019. Hopefully, afterwards you’ll be able to order an avocado burger at their incredibly Instagrammable restaurant without feeling guilty.
