First Dates is looking for background diners

Are you more into eating than dating, but do you enjoy the guilty pleasures of watching other people date? Well, then I have fantastic news for you. First Dates is looking for background diners!

Yes, yes—you can actually witness all the awkward dates (I don’t think the success rate on First Dates is all that high…) while also being served a three-course meal. Personally, I call that a win-win.

I want this! How, what, where?

You can sign up via this link, and they have been looking for people since February 24. But even at the end of March, they are still short of background diners. I seriously signed up, because this sounds absolutely hilarious to me. It’s a bit of a shame that maître Sergio (temporarily? Right? RIGHT?!) won’t be there, but at least you can high-five bartender Victor. Would you also be allowed to have a drink at the bar first, or is that reserved only for the daredevils who are going on a date?

We’ll find out. BNN, if you’re reading this: I naturally expect to be invited to your place. Can’t wait. It doesn’t cost much either (almost nothing): 25 euros for a three-course dinner. You’d be a fool to pass up this opportunity.
