Flying Dutchmen Cocktails

Cocktail champions Tess Posthumus and Timo Janse are opening Flying Dutchmen Cocktails in the listed Odeon building at Singel 460 in the heart of Amsterdam.

Anyone who thinks cocktails always come with airs and graces is mistaken: here, they serve bar classics without any fuss and offer workshops that even cocktail lovers with no prior knowledge can easily get to grips with.
Bossy bartenders
Tess and Timo have been a legendary bartender team for years. Tess was named the ‘best female bartender in the world’ in 2015 during the Diageo World Class competition, and as a duo they previously put the award-winning cocktail bar Door 74 in Amsterdam on the map.
Knowledge of classics
While at the average trendy cocktail bar, signature cocktails fly at you from all sides, Flying Dutchmen Cocktails will only serve classics. Because although many complicated cocktails may increasingly look more Instagrammable, Tess and Timo believe this often does not benefit the taste.
So start with the basics. Tess often shares that feedback in training sessions and as a competition judge. After all, you must first learn to walk before you can run and eventually fly. That is why both professionals and regular visitors will soon be able to attend workshops and seminars to brush up on their cocktail knowledge. Simply tasting and enjoying is of course also allowed, but then it should be a cocktail that tastes the way it is meant to.
Pop-up cocktail bar
Those who cannot wait until December can already visit TNT Cocktails, the golden duo’s pop-up bar. During The Food Stage at the Melkweg, they will serve a selection of timeless cocktails there every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. over the coming months.
