Good news for all oyster fans! The very first oyster festival in Amsterdam is coming. Imagine yourself in a real oyster paradise where you can taste all kinds and sizes, paired with sparkling wines and still wines. Or how about gin oysters? Bring it on!
The oyster festival is being organized by oyster fanatics Shannice Wilner & Leonne Stentler. They previously came up with various oyster activities, such as an oyster walk through Rotterdam, and now Levenslang Amsterdam (the former Bijlmerbajes) will be transformed into an oyster paradise for 1 day, with a large number of oyster bars, oyster farmers and oyster suppliers from various countries.
Oysters and wine
“There are so many different types of oysters and flavors that we sometimes jokingly compare them to wines. The various farming methods, growing time, fresh and salt water, amount of plankton and different terroirs in various countries provide so many options. We want to let all oyster lovers taste their way through them,” says Shannice.
