Fun outing: slurping your way through Rotterdam during the oyster walk

Do you love oysters and are you always curious where to eat the tastiest ones in the city? Then this is an outing you’ll want to put on your radar: the oyster walk in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam is bursting with great restaurants. From wine bar Square ’47, Grace Festive restaurant and high-end Michelin-starred restaurant Fred**, to name just a few of our favorite spots lately. And do you know what else you can eat very well in 010? Oysters! To introduce people to them, Shannice Wilner & Leonne Stentler are organizing an oyster walk through the city.

In Amsterdam, they may have had a head start—an oyster walk was already organized there during the pandemic—but now it’s Rotterdam’s turn. This first Rotterdam walk has been mapped out through the Katendrecht and Stadsdriehoek districts and will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Good oysters, fun route

During the first edition in Rotterdam, you’ll walk from Stadsdriehoek via the Erasmus Bridge to Katendrecht. Aside from the fun route—which Leonne even calls one of the nicest parts of Rotterdam—the organizers have also selected restaurants known for the quality of their oysters. In addition to slurping oysters with a matching drink, the walk includes fun facts, an oyster quiz and more entertainment.
