For all steak lovers: you can now take an online steak-cooking course

Biefstuk

Not me, mind you, but plenty of other people do. They think they can cook a really good steak. Letting the steak come to room temperature, patting it dry, salting beforehand, peppering afterwards… But as it turns out, lots of people really make a mess of cooking their steak. But there’s hopeful news: you can now take an online steak-cooking course. Tonight already!

Chef and oenologist Robert Verweij from TeesT will teach you the most important basics of cooking a good steak during the course. Topics include the science behind cooking steak, how to achieve the perfect cuisson and the influence of pans, heat sources, knives, aluminium foil and fat. And what I’m personally really looking forward to: Robert will also be overturning all kinds of sacred steak-cooking beliefs. Maybe even the one about patting it dry.

Registration and costs

The online steak-cooking course is today (Friday 10 April) from 16:00 -17:30, and you can register here. The cost is 9 euros—and according to previous participants, it’s a bargain. I’m signing up; are you? Who knows, perhaps from now on we’ll cook a steak just as delicious as Loetje’s!
