A while ago, we already wrote about the new phenomenon: De Thuisborrel Club. Their online pub crawl was a particularly fun initiative. And now they have come up with a more luxurious version: the Luxury Hotel Bar Edition.
De Thuisborrel Club was created to support and encourage (cocktail) bars that still have to keep their doors closed. Is there a cocktail party on the schedule and would you like to serve your guests something other than a standard Mojito or Margarita? Or do you simply feel like shaking as if your life depended on it, but lack the knowledge and inspiration? Pas de problème, the Luxury Hotel Bar Edition by De Thuisborrel Club guarantees a wonderful evening filled with unique cocktails and entertainment.
Develop your shaking skills
After a first successful edition, it is time for a new edition in a slightly different, but at least equally fun, guise: the Luxury Hotel Bar Edition. The name says it all: this edition is dominated by four hotel bars, all part of Amsterdam’s finest and most luxurious five-star hotels. Unlike last time, this edition is mainly about the knowledge the bars share with you and developing your shaking skills.
The participating bars are: Vault Bar at the Waldorf Astoria, Amstel Bar at the Amstel Hotel, Bar Twenty Seven at the boutique hotel Hotel Twenty Seven of the same name, and Taiko Bar at the Conservatorium Hotel.
When the sun is shining—or when it’s raining
The cocktail boxes can be ordered and used at any time of your choice. A summery BBQ, a weekend with friends, or simply because it’s pouring with rain outside and it’s cozier indoors—the Thuisborrel Club cocktail box guarantees a successful evening full of delicious cocktails, workshops, and tutorials.
The boxes are available in two versions: the ‘small’ contains ingredients for four cocktails (one from each bar), while the ‘large’ contains the components for no fewer than eight cocktails (two per bar). Think of the Aberdeen Sour with Chivas Regal, a slightly more exciting version of the ‘Whisky Sour’, the ‘Charlie Chaplin’ with Sloe Gin and apricot liqueur, and ‘De Wallen’ with Disaronno and passion fruit.
Happily alcohol-free
The mindful drinker has also been taken into account, now that drinking less alcohol is so on trend; the box also contains two—refreshing, fruity, and above all, just as delicious—non-alcoholic cocktails. Not exactly a natural shaker? No problem: every cocktail comes with a tutorial in which the bartenders explain everything in detail. You will receive these tutorials by email as soon as the order has been completed. You provide your own shaking equipment and pleasant company, and they will take care of the rest!
