Great for cocktail lovers: the online pub crawl with De Thuisborrel Club

Do you miss those masterful martinis, margaritas and mojitos as much as we do? We can’t wait for our favorite cocktail bars to reopen. But you don’t have to wait! This coming weekend, you can work on your own cocktail skills, thanks to a new phenomenon: De Thuisborrel Club.

Going out still isn’t possible, but this weekend you can enjoy yourself in your own Wohnzimmerbar. The bartenders from great cocktail bars such as Door74 in Amsterdam, Amahoela in Rotterdam, The Court in The Hague and Mr Finch in Utrecht will teach you online on May 22 and 23 how to shake a top-notch cocktail. You can pick up the course materials in Amsterdam or Rotterdam through Thursday.
Cocktail box
The course materials? Yes, a beautiful cocktail box consisting of 8 miniatures, the necessary mixers and garnishes such as mini cucumbers and giant raspberries. You’ll have to provide your own glass, ice and cocktail shaker (or water bottle, that works too), but everything else is included in this delicious drinks box. It costs 39.50 euros. If you’d like to take part but would rather go to the liquor store yourself, that’s of course possible too. In that case, you’ll pay a ten-euro admission fee.
Channel-hopping
This coming Friday and Saturday evening, you can build cocktails with, among others, Rutte Old Tom Jenever and Hendrick’s Gin. Each bar takes an hour and teaches you the finer points of the cocktail trade. You can happily channel-hop from bar to bar, allowing you to go on an extensive pub crawl visiting 11 bars. All from your own rocking chair! A major advantage: you no longer have to drive home! And for the next day: it’s scientifically proven: this really helps with a hangover. Miaow!
