Recipe: Flügel cupcakes from the Airfryer (oven works too)

flugel cupcakes

It won’t have escaped your notice: we do enjoy a drink now and then. And a snack. So why not combine the two? Think of the Margarita tart, pink champagne macarons, gin and tonic cake or leftover wine cookies. But Flügel cupcakes? That’s truly next level.

The cupcakes, the buttercream combined with a shot of Flügel—it’s like taking a bite of heaven. And although you need an oven or Airfryer, this recipe is still incredibly easy and whipped up in no time. How do you make them? Watch, be amazed and, above all, let your freshly baked cupcakes take a Flügel shot as soon as possible.

How to make Flügel cupcakes

1. Prepare your cupcake mix as you normally do.

2. Put the cupcakes in the Airfryer for 15 minutes at 155 degrees, or for 22 minutes at 180 degrees in a conventional oven or 160 degrees in a fan oven.

3. Prepare the buttercream according to your preference.

4. Add 3 to 4 bottles of Flügel to the buttercream and briefly mix everything together.

5. Pipe the buttercream onto the cupcakes using a piping bag.

6. Finish the whole thing with an opened bottle of Flügel turned upside down in the buttercream—and let the shots begin.

In this handy video, you can see how to do it—and no, don’t have a shot before watching, okay?
