From PotatoZilla to Carrot-Kong: 20x we got much more than we asked for

We never really stop to think about it, but the fruit and vegetables on the shelves are the Victoria’s Secret models of their kind: beautiful, shiny, perfectly shaped and wildly attractive. Well… according to (rather debatable) Western beauty standards, that is. Anyway: their “less attractive” brothers and sisters are thrown away, fed to animals or end up—as long as they’re lucky—in a ‘Buitenbeentjes’ bag. And sometimes, very occasionally, they still slip through the net and make a big impression.

That was also the case with Twitter user Naomi. She ordered 1 kilo of sweet potatoes. And received… 1 one-kilo sweet potato. Hello there! She affectionately named her new housemate ‘PotatoZilla’ and proudly shared him with the rest of Twitter.

Had anyone else ever ended up with such a whopper at home? Absolutely. A series of mega vegetables, fruit and one (dino?) egg followed:
