Gordon Ramsay is angry: ‘I don’t serve idiot sandwiches’

Aiii, you surely know: you shouldn’t make Gordon Ramsay angry. Because then a full-on barrage of abuse gets fired at you. But it turns out… Chef Ramsay himself isn’t very good at taking criticism. I’m a little disappointed in him as a chef, especially because, as far as I’m concerned, the criticism is completely justified…

So what’s going on: Mr. Ramsay tweeted last week about the ‘amazing Full English Breakfast’ that will soon be served at one of his restaurants. Only, a few things are going wrong here. First of all, this English Breakfast is anything but full (and is even missing ingredients that are standard in an English Breakfast), and secondly, the price. That is rather full, namely nineteen pounds. NINETEEN. Holy shitballs (as Chef Ramsay himself would probably say), that’s really not exactly cheap for this minimal portion.

Of the more than 7 million followers Gordon Ramsay has on Twitter, practically no one was impressed by this dish. Where are the beans? Why is there one tomato and one mushroom? On top of that, you have to pay extra for every additional dish (in other words, an extra tomato). And can we get some toast with that too? No, this is quite o-ver-whelm-ing-ly a fail. Unfortunately.

This is NOT an idiot sandwich

Chef Ramsay absolutely disagrees with that failing grade, and he was also done with all the criticism everyone kept throwing at him on Twitter. One user responded to his meagre English Breakfast with a photo of—honestly—a real English Breakfast that meets all the requirements and won’t immediately cost you £19. I know which one I’d choose: I’d definitely go for option 2.

And yes, Gordon saw this response and came back with a comeback only he could deliver: “That’s called a Full English Classic Heart Attack you idiot sandwich”. I will never not enjoy Gordon Ramsay calling something an idiot sandwich. A 10 for the comeback, but definitely a 2 for his English Breakfast. Sorry.

By the way… you can find our best Full English Breakfast here, and it’s one you’ll never forget. So if you happen to be in London soon: go, go, go!
