Gordon Ramsay serves outrageously expensive children’s portions and nobody is happy
Oh Gordon Ramsay, I think you’re such a hero. But lately, I feel like you’re not always handling things quite so well. For example, I found your own interpretation of an English Breakfast… Not terribly successful, to put it mildly. Very expensive, though, for a slice of tomato and two eggs. And those prices remain a source of annoyance. Because fans aren’t happy now either. This time because of a Sunday Roast that looks more like a children’s menu than a generous roast. A children’s menu costing £45, at that.
When I think of a Sunday Roast, I think of… FOOD. Lots and lots of food. Delicious, large cuts of meat. Basically, just an abundance of wonderful meat. If there were an all-you-can-eat restaurant that was only open on Sundays and served Sunday Roast, I’d be there every week. A gap in the market, by the way—or am I crazy?!
Gordon Ramsay tried to whet his Instagram followers’ appetites with the caption “Sundays at Savoy Grill…. roast sirloin of beef with all the trimmings…. absolutely stunning!!” He posted a photo of the Roast in question and, well, there is exactly nothing absolutely stunning about it.
Where’s that roast, then? I can’t find it?
Behold: two carrots, three pieces of potato, some broccoli, a Yorkshire pudding and a piece of meat. That’s right, you read that correctly: a piece. We want a gigantic piece of meat with our Sunday Roast, dear Gordon, and preferably more than one. And perhaps Mr Ramsay should also look up what all the trimmings means (I’ll help you out: it translates as ‘everything that goes with it’) because… I don’t see anything? Isn’t this just a teeny-tiny little dish with absolutely nothing that goes with it?
I should mention that for that £45, you do get three courses, of which this is the main course. But come on, if you’re going for a Sunday Roast, you don’t want three courses, do you?! No, then the entire roast should simply be one gigantic course with endless amounts of food. Gordon, you DONKEY, I expect more from you. Step up your Roast game, please.
