Heinz finally tells us whether ketchup belongs in the fridge or not

There are products that will always spark debate about whether you should keep them in the fridge or not. Eggs, for example. Or sauces like mayonnaise and ketchup. Personally, I put everything in the fridge, but that does sometimes earn me a few strange looks. Luckily, we can now cross one of those products off the list, because Heinz has finally told us.

Does ketchup belong in the fridge or not? Heinz posted the definitive answer on Twitter, in a way that makes it seem as though this has actually always been completely obvious.

They wrote: ‘FYI: ketchup. goes. in. the. fridge!!!’ I take that to mean: ‘Hellooo, of course ketchup belongs in the fridge, how on earth did you ever think otherwise?!’ And other Twitter users aren’t exactly taking it well either.
‘No it doesn’t. You stick to production and I’ll deal with the consumption,’ one Twitter user — and enthusiastic Heinz consumer — wrote in response, for example. So, it seems that despite Heinz’s statement, this debate is far from over…
