Hello BAUT Paradise

BAUT’s travelling circus has once again left the old V&D building on Het Rokin and settled in Amsterdam East. Hello BAUT Paradise.

Paradise? Yes, because the new BAUT is located on Paradijsplein. The theme has also been carried through inside: warm colours, cosy corners and, naturally, the toilets are named after Adam and Eve. An enormous graffiti artwork adorns the wall, featuring a sexy Eve with a snake around her neck and a hip Adam with an Apple logo on his chef’s jacket.

Steak tartare with bacon mayo
The menu? It still features those delicious BAUT classics. We taste the oysters with Hollandaise (a newsroom favourite), steak tartare with bacon mayo, scallops with beurre noisette and a delicious vegetarian tom kha kai soup.
Yes, that’s what I’m willing to cycle from west to east for
Good news: BAUT can stay in the former gas distribution station for at least another year and a half. That’s nice, because it will presumably give all the staff a little more breathing room too. Even better, chef Michiel van der Eerde and his team plan to regularly organise events in their paradise.
I remain a BAUT fan and will therefore be spending time here regularly. Yes, that’s what I’m willing to cycle from west to east for.
