Yes, yes, you’re reading that right. The quintessentially Dutch company is launching a vegan smoked sausage. Not much is known about it yet, but at least it’s certain that it’s happening.
Other vegan smoked sausages
The company isn’t the first to launch a vegan smoked sausage. Unox beat them to it with a vegetarian smoked sausage, and vegans have already been able to satisfy their smoked sausage craving with the vegan smoked sausage from the Vegetarian Butcher.
More sustainable
Ultimately, Hema wants to create a vegan version of all its well-known food products. The vegan apple crumble pie and the vegetarian sausage roll are already available. What’s next? A vegan tompouce?
It is not yet known when the vegan smoked sausage will be available in stores.
