HEMA (once again) knows what we want: a recipe for tompouce milkshakes

King’s Day 2023 is over once again, which means we’re once again 90% tompouce. This year, we really went all out. Tompouce cruffins, tompouce cake and homemade orange tompouces—we ate it all. We also made ourselves sick eating HEMA’s tompouces. And now they’ve come up with a brilliant recipe. A tompouce milkshake. Oh HEMA, what are you doing to us?!

If there’s anyone or anything we’re willing to take advice from on what to do with our leftover tompouces, it’s HEMA. Sure, Wim-Lex may be our king—but the king of tompouces is and always will be… Exactly.
How to make the tompouce milkshake
Whether you still have the pastry in your fridge or need to make a quick trip to the bakery—uhm, sorry: HEMA—this tompouce milkshake is one you’ll want to make either way. It’s a super-simple recipe, but so delicious. You only need 3 different ingredients: 2 (orange) tompouces, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and 400 milliliters of milk. Put everything in the blender, blend until smooth and pour it into a nice glass. That’s it. Anyone with a sweet tooth can top it with a dollop of whipped cream. Check out the video below!
More tompouces at HEMA
Tompouces aren’t only found in HEMA’s pastry department displays. Anyone taking a lap around the store can easily fill their basket with all kinds of tompouce-related goodies. You’re either the king of tompouces or you’re not! Our favorites this year were hanging in the clothing racks: tompouce shirts and socks. Secretly, we’re still wearing them even after King’s Day. New to the range and the must-have item of the year is the tompouce scouring sponge. Scrubbing with a pink tompouce? Yes please. Cleaning suddenly becomes a genuinely delicious chore.
