High tea at Happyhappyjoyjoy

happyhappyjoyjoy

You could already visit the hugely popular Happyhappyjoyjoy in Amsterdam all day long for the tastiest Asian street food. From February, the restaurant will also serve a high tea with countless snacks and sweets.

Forget triangular sandwiches with cucumber and salmon—for now on, high tea is Asian style. From February 14, you can visit Happyhappyjoyjoy in the afternoon for a table filled with Asian snacks. Just as you’re used to from the British high tea, sweet and savory bites are served at the same time. Here, however, they don’t come on a fancy tower, but in a large steamer basket. Even cozier, right?

From gyoza to spekkoek

For €19.95 per person, you get everything your heart desires. Peking duck bao buns, gyoza (fried dumplings), spring rolls, lucky bags and, of course, sweets. How about sticky rice, sesame balls, mantao and spekkoek? Essentially a kind of dim sum, but not just from China—from all across Asia.

So book that romantic Valentine’s date in the afternoon, celebrate your birthday among the steamer baskets or simply come for the convivial atmosphere. You can visit all three Happyhappyjoyjoy locations (West, East and South). Reservations can be made up to one day in advance via the website.
