How fun: Groningen Michelin-starred restaurant Noor gives students 50% off

Isn’t this the best student deal imaginable? Dining out at a Michelin-starred restaurant without immediately blowing through your student budget. In 2022, it was such a huge success—the four dates sold out within a minute—that chefs Marleen and Jeroen Brouwer are opening no fewer than twelve dates in July this year on which students can experience Michelin-starred dining for half price.

The Groningen restaurant run by thirty-somethings Marleen and Jeroen Brouwer, which opened in March 2022, was awarded its first Michelin star by the Michelin Guide within just three months. But they also know that a Michelin-starred restaurant is out of reach for many young people. With their campaign, they want to introduce students to dining at a top restaurant in an accessible way.

Potential customers

Jeroen: “We still remember very well that fine dining was often out of reach for us when we were students, even though we were eager to gain gastronomic inspiration. That’s why we’re giving students interested in gastronomy a 50% discount on the menu price. This way, they can experience fine dining, get to know us and Noor, and we hope they will become our potential guests of the future. Last year, we received many enthusiastic responses from students—not only about the food, but also about the relaxed, informal atmosphere in our restaurant. That was exactly what we wanted them to experience.”

Terms and conditions of the student campaign

The student campaign runs from 5 through 29 July 2023 and is valid on Wednesday evenings, Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The campaign applies to students between the ages of 18 and 25 who are genuinely enrolled in a course of study and can prove it. Dining companions who do not meet the campaign’s terms and conditions pay the regular menu price. Reservations can be made from 21 June 2023 at 00:00 via the reservation system on Noor’s website, where a special student option will be shown for the available dates. Newsletter subscribers had the opportunity to reserve early from 18 June.
