How many croquettes do we eat per year?

Croquettes are the country’s most popular snack. Around 85 percent of the Dutch eat them regularly, preferably by hand. The top three are the beef croquette, veal croquette and goulash croquette. How many do we Dutch eat per year?

255 million
Research by the AKSV (General Association of Cooked Goods and Snack Producers) and Van Geloven has revealed how many croquettes we all consume every year. No fewer than 255 (!) million. Our beloved snack is more popular in the hospitality industry than at home. Snack bars and restaurants consume an average of 155 million croquettes, while supermarkets account for 100 million.
