How to make influencer Anna Paul’s viral Turkish pasta

Anna Paul Turkse pasta

Every now and then, a pasta dish goes completely viral. And every time, we think: genius. Even though it’s so simple. The feta pasta? You definitely remember that one. It was groundbreaking. And Gigi Hadid’s vodka pasta? What genius thought of putting vodka in pasta?! Now another unusual pasta dish is making the rounds on TikTok: influencer Anna Paul’s Turkish pasta. This one is absolutely worth the hype too.

The recipe comes from Anna’s mother. Anna herself is an influencer with nearly 8 million followers on TikTok, so you can imagine that by now, half the world is making her mum’s Turkish pasta.

A flavor bomb

Why is this pasta so special? You don’t make it with a traditional tomato sauce, but with… Greek yogurt. I know, you probably never thought of pairing pasta with Greek yogurt before. But it works. Especially because the yogurt is flavored with garlic. The ground beef, seasoned with onion powder and paprika, adds even more flavor. And there’s one more thing: you finish the pasta by pouring melted brown butter over it. I don’t know how many incredible flavors you count, but I can tell you this is one seriously powerful flavor bomb. An added bonus: the pasta is on the table within 10 minutes.

How to make the viral Turkish pasta

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the finely chopped garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the pan. Cook until done and browned. Break the meat into smaller pieces with a spoon while cooking. This takes about 8–10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder and paprika.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the ground beef. Stir well so the pasta is coated with the meat mixture.
  5. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt and finely chopped garlic.
  6. Melt the butter together with the paprika in a microwave-safe bowl or in a small saucepan on the stove.
  7. Serve the pasta and spoon the meat mixture on top. Add Greek yogurt, tomatoes and fresh parsley, then drizzle with the melted butter.
