IKEA comes up with a pizza table inspired by: a pizza table (small)
We are all trying to support our local hospitality industry however we can, and many pizza places that deliver are working overtime these days too. So, with stay-at-home food in mind, and pizza always pretty much top of mind, we came across this news item – a table that will surely look familiar if you often order pizza:
A fan of Pizza Hut? And Ikea? The two have teamed up once again, following an earlier collaboration in the form of Swedish meatballs on a pizza. The result this time? The round plastic table that some major chains place in the middle of the pizza box now also exists in realsize!
Swedish-Italian, in Asia
In Hong Kong, to be precise, where both companies have a large and enthusiastic following. A major advertising agency (Ogilvy) was involved, because with companies of this size, we are not talking about a little hobby project – and now there is a round table that is perfect for eating pizza together. It is also packaged in a box that is not only recognisably flat-pack Ikea, but also inspired by a pizza box.
Mini/Maxi
The Pizza Hut logo has been incorporated into the table and, honestly: isn’t that a very fun big brother for the little one?
Not yet available in the Netherlands, but if the people of Amersfoort, Rotterdam and Roosendaal (where Pizza Hut has locations) keep ordering lots of pizzas – who knows…!
