IKEA has a new Swedish meatball: HUVUDROLL

IKEA balletjes

When you say Ikea, you say Swedish meatballs. Since the beginning of the year, you can not only eat those meatballs in the restaurant, but also easily make them yourself at home with this recipe. Now there’s a new version of the well-known meatball, but this time… without meat!

Small meatball, big impact

‘A small meatball with a big impact’: that’s what the new HUVUDROLL plant-based meatballs are all about. This #balvanIkea is proof that a future with less meat can be at least as delicious as one with meat. This vegan alternative to the traditional meatballs still has the same flavor and bite as the meat version, but is much more environmentally friendly.

Meatball 2.0

The HUVUDROLL green meatballs are made from pea protein, potato, onion, oats and apple. How can they taste like meat? Because umami flavors such as mushroom, tomato and grilled vegetables are added.

Eat them at home

The new meatballs will be served in Ikea restaurants from the beginning of September with mashed potatoes or fries, broccoli, cream sauce and lingonberry jam. You can also find the HUVUDROLL meatballs in the store’s freezer section (at €3.50).
