Imagine yourself in the Caribbean at The Grand Beach, Amsterdam’s urban beach
Urban beach fun in the heart of Amsterdam! Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is opening the second edition of ‘The Grand Beach’. The historic courtyard of the luxury hotel has been transformed into a real sandy beach of over 380m2, complete with an outdoor bar, Big Green Egg barbecues and various seating areas and cabanas.
Life is better at the beach
Last year, it was truly wonderful. During the first edition of The Grand Beach, the hotel courtyard was transformed into an urban beach, inspired by the French Riviera with rosé, cocktails and chic French dishes and bites. The second edition is all about the deliciously laid-back tropical atmosphere of the Caribbean.
Delicious tropical dishes and drinks
The menu is therefore inspired by Caribbean cuisine, known for its barbecue and fresh fish dishes combined with spicy marinades and chutneys, and features dishes such as sea bass, grilled octopus and fresh salads with prawns and tropical fruit.
Classic delicacies such as oysters can also be found on the menu. The bar naturally also serves tropical rum-based cocktails, such as Frozen Piña Colada, Classic or Strawberry Mojito and Dark ‘n Stormy.
Fun: rum tastings
Throughout the summer, various events take place at The Grand Beach, such as cinema nights, BBQ Sundays and rum tastings. In the mood for that wonderful Caribbean holiday feeling? The Grand Beach is open from 13 May through 12 September. For now, from 12:00 to 18:00, with opening hours to be adjusted depending on the coronavirus measures.
