In these European cities, beers are the most expensive
Are you the chosen one to organize the friends’ weekend this year? Good preparation is half the battle. So it’s not at all a bad idea to check how much cash you and your buddies will need to bring. And of course, the real burning question is: how expensive is the beer there, actually? I’ll make it a little easier for you. In the following 10 European cities, you’ll pay the very most for your golden brew.
If you still want to go (because honestly: there are some absolute gems among these destinations!), you can at least put together a savings plan well in advance.
Expensive nights of heavy drinking
Want to burn through your savings at lightning speed? Then you should especially drink beer in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. There, you simply pay well over €10 for a beer. Just imagine how much you’d spend on a proper night of heavy drinking… Crazy, right? If you check out the rest of the top 10, you’ll see that Scandinavia is strongly represented. Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm are all on the list. Here’s the complete ranking:

And what do we see? Not a single Dutch city is on the list! Are we all complaining too much about the high beer prices here? Well, the fact remains that beer prices here also keep shooting up every year. That €1.70 for a small beer is now a bittersweet memory. Perhaps it won’t be long before we make the top 10 too. Although I think prices in other European countries will continue to rise as well. Sad.
Drinking beer on a budget
But don’t be sad! There are still European countries where beer is perfectly affordable. In these European countries, you pay the least for a beer. Looking at the top 10, you’ll see that you mainly need to head east in Europe for cheap beer. Do you want to stay nice and close to home?
