Insane: this burger has been named the worldwide public favorite

The World Burger Tour took place recently. The Pittsburgh Burger — named after the city it comes from — has emerged as the ultimate winner. This burger may carry the title of ‘World’s best burger’ for a year. Remarkably, it falls into the heart-attack category.

Incidentally, this is not an ordinary hamburger competition. Only (150) Hard Rock Cafes worldwide took part in the competition. Each location created its own regionally inspired burger. Of the five finalists — burgers from Pittsburgh (US), Bucharest (Romania), Gramado (Brazil), Kathmandu (Nepal), and Bengaluru (India) — the Pittsburgh Burger is the one people most want to sink their teeth into.

Pittsburgh Burger

The Pittsburgh Burger, of which more than one hundred thousand have now been sold, is made with two smash burgers, pickles, cheese sauce, fries, bacon jam, smoked bacon, American cheese, and a secret sauce. I find it unbelievable that there are people who can stuff such a beast down, but perhaps you’re thinking right now: I can do that! I want this!

Then I have good news: it’s available at Hard Rock Café Amsterdam. It will cost you, though — €21.95, to be precise. It’s available here until October 1, but can also be ordered at all the other Hard Rock Cafés around the world.

Countermovement

Isn’t it strange that people worldwide are becoming increasingly conscious of healthy food and a healthy lifestyle, yet a burger like this is in such high demand? Yes and no. Because every trend also brings a countermovement. And here we see it in the form of an insane and enormously unhealthy snack as a reaction to everything sustainable, vegan, and healthy.
