Irresistible: how to make chocolate ice cream without an ice cream maker

Mounir Toub is one of the best-known chefs in our country. He regularly appears on TV shows, writes cookbooks and is a hospitality lecturer. In his latest book, Fast Arabic, Mounir shows you how to prepare the tastiest Arabic dishes in under 30 minutes. Like this chocolate tahini ice cream that you make without an ice cream maker!

Mounir: “An ice cream maker is a wonderful gadget for every chef and cooking enthusiast, but once you’ve tried this recipe, that machine can go out the door. All you need for fantastic chocolate tahini ice cream is a freezer and a food processor!”
How to make the chocolate tahini ice cream
- Put the bananas, tahini, cocoa and yogurt in a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Put the ice cream in a piping bag with a star nozzle and place it in the freezer for 10 minutes, so the ice cream becomes firmer and you can pipe it later.
- Pipe the ice cream into the cones, sprinkle the chopped nuts over it and drizzle with the caramel sauce.
Tip: Freeze the bananas without their peels, because frozen peels are difficult to remove – almost impossible! And instead of ice cream cones, you can also use waffles.
