It has been researched: eating sushi makes you smarter

We. love. sushi. From sneakers to burgers, we love everything with rice rolled in sheets of nori. You too? Then we have good news for you. Research has shown that people who often eat sushi are incredibly intelligent. Bingo!

How exactly does that work? Yes, that’s what I wanted to know too. Colleague Lilian from Amayzine looked into it in detail for us.

This is how it works

Here’s the story: sushi contains a hefty dose of omega-3 fatty acids, and these acids happen to be very good for you. Research by the University of LA has shown that people who eat enough food containing omega-3 score better on IQ tests. And now I can hear you thinking: it’s not exactly news that oily fish is good for our brains. But research from a year ago emphasizes that the positive impact goes even further than we already thought: it not only improves the performance of your mental tasks after eating sushi, it also makes your reaction time considerably faster, and you get tired much less quickly after polishing it off than someone who would rather skip sushi.

Long story short: eating lots of sushi makes you smarter, helps you react faster, and means you get tired less quickly. I know what I’m eating tonight—do you?
