It’s a kind of magic: Disney shares its recipe for ‘Cookie Fries’

Like so many others, Disney is also trying to keep a little of the magic of its park alive now that it is closed. One way they are doing that is by sharing the recipes for the treats you can get in the park. And man, it’s like a fairytale.

They already shared their churros recipe, Dole Whips, and the grilled cheese sandwich from Toy Story Land, but now they’re adding their ‘Cookie Fries‘ to the list as well.

Honestly, I didn’t know about them either. But the name alone makes my eyes light up. The cookies are usually available at the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. They’re completely plant-based and somewhat resemble biscotti: crunchy, sweet and with a generous dose of chocolate.

And the best part is: they’re not difficult to make at all. You only need 6 ingredients. Plus water, but that doesn’t count. To keep them plant-based, margarine and an egg substitute are used. But if that’s not for you, you can of course simply replace them with butter and real eggs.

How to make Disney Cookie Fries:

  • Mix the flour, powdered sugar and margarine in a bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
  • Put the warm water and egg substitute in a small bowl.
  • Then add the egg substitute and molasses syrup to the mixture and mix that on medium speed as well until smooth.
  • ‘Fold’ in the chocolate chips.
  • Put the mixture in a 20×20 cm dish and let it set in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Remove the dough from the refrigerator and cut it into 32 strips about 0.5 cm wide and 10 cm long, then arrange the strips on the parchment paper. (Max 16 per sheet).
  • Bake them until crisp, for 20–22 minutes.

Tip: Serve them with chocolate, strawberries, jam or a marshmallow dip.
