Learn all about making and cooking with tempeh yourself in this double workshop

Tempeh satay is unbelievably delicious, but you do need to know how to prepare it properly. Things often go tragically wrong with tempeh, which means many people (unfairly) think they don’t like tempeh. And cookbook authors Vanja van der Leeden and Meneer Wateetons want to change that. Over two evenings, the authors of Over Rot and Indorock will teach you everything about this Indonesian classic. Tempeh haters: get your groove on!

Digitally and with freshly washed hands, Meneer Wateetons and Vanja are joining forces. The workshop consists of two parts. On Friday, December 11, fermentation expert Meneer Wateetons will teach you how to make tempeh yourself, right in your own kitchen and with minimal equipment. Not just the familiar soy bean tempeh, but also original new tempehs made from other beans. On December 23, Vanja will take over and prepare tempeh with the viewers, using recipes from her books Indorock and Indostok.

See? You’ll like it too (soon)!
Just briefly and concretely: the workshops take place on Friday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 23 at 20:30, can be followed live, and each lasts approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. The workshops will subsequently be available for all participants to watch again. So you can buy a ticket even if you can’t attend live, or can only attend one of the two. This unique double workshop costs just €24.99. You’ll immediately get €5 of that back in the form of a voucher at www.starterculturen.nl to buy your own tempeh starter. Or something else. Afterward, you’ll know everything about tempeh and will never again say that you don’t really like tempeh. You can find more information and get a ticket here.
