Michelin Stars 2019

As of today (Monday, December 17), the Netherlands has twelve new Michelin-starred restaurants. Two restaurants have received a second star, and three have retained their three stars. You can read who they all are here.

Despite the expectations, Ciel Bleu did not receive a third star, but Noël van Wittenbergh did win the Michelin award for best sommelier.
You may have already followed it closely in our live blog, but restaurants Flicka, Voltaire, De Rozario, The Millèn, Olivijn, O&O, Rijnzicht, De Loohoeve, Bougainville, Monarh, 212 and Oonivoo have been awarded their first star.
Second star
Chef Nico Boreas of restaurant Sabero in Roermond and chef Syrco Bakker of restaurant Pure C in Cadzand have received a second star.
Three stars
Finally, the Netherlands is still home to three three-star restaurants: Inter Scaldes, De Librije (and of course we wholeheartedly agree!) and De Leest. Quite an achievement when you consider that there are only around 120 three-star restaurants worldwide, as Michelin’s international director Gwendal Poullenec explained.
