Most bottles of wine are ordered in Den Bosch
There’s nothing more convivial than a Brabant café. But at home, they know how to enjoy a good drink too. Recent research shows that the people of Den Bosch order the most bottles of wine in the Netherlands.
Okay, the three largest cities did drink the most litres, but Den Bosch tops the ranking when it comes to ordering bottles: 374 bottles per thousand inhabitants over the past year.

So whether they’re taking them along to a Sunday afternoon visit, or—at the thought of which we get positively warm inside—opening them during long evenings of Burgundian dining, they love their wine.

In any case, they’re certainly not averse to it south of the rivers. In Maastricht and Middelburg too, they get through plenty of bottles (365 and 360 bottles per thousand inhabitants, respectively), while, by stark contrast, Leeuwarden managed just 134 bottles per thousand inhabitants last year. Though perhaps they’re all drinking Beerenburg instead…
