New at Albert Heijn: organic chocolate bars in different flavors
It probably has something to do with the time of year. While it gets colder and wetter outside, new chocolate bars are flying onto the shelves. Ritter Sport launched five new flavors, Hands Off dropped four, and now new Claro chocolate bars are also available at Albert Heijn. Unusually delicious chocolate from Amsterdam that makes an impact not only with its flavors, but also with its mission.
Unusually good chocolate with a positive impact
Claro uses organic cocoa beans sourced directly from cocoa farmers in Colombia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. By working directly with the farmers, they can not only guarantee that the beans are of top quality, but also that the farmers receive a living wage.
The focus is not only on fair trade, but also on nature conservation and restoration. Claro ensures that the cocoa farmers plant shade trees, such as mango and citrus trees, which promotes biodiversity and prevents deforestation. A win for both nature and the local communities. Unique chocolate made with solar energy
After the cocoa has made the long journey from Colombia, it arrives in Amsterdam, where Claro turns the beans into the most refined chocolate. In a solar-powered factory, the cocoa is transformed into bars and snacks that you definitely won’t be able to resist.

Claro has five particularly delicious bars that you simply have to try. Each of these bars has a unique character, and the more cocoa they contain, the greater the impact:
100% extra dark. Intense and pure, for true chocolate lovers. It really takes some getting used to, because it’s bitter! But once you get used to it, it’s deliciously hardcore.
85% dark. Rich and full of flavor. My favorite, because although I can certainly appreciate the 100% extra dark, I miss the joy of actually enjoying chocolate in such a hardcore bar. 85% is still a high cocoa content, so after a few pieces you really feel satisfied.
75% dark with cacao nibs and sea salt. Crunchy, salty, and full of cocoa. Delicious with that crunch!
55% dark with orange. The perfect balance of citrus and cocoa; what a great combination.
52% milk chocolate with cacao nibs and coffee. A creamy bar with a hint of coffee flavor. Honestly: unusually delicious too!
