New in The Hague: Restaurant Suus

De Plesman recently opened its doors in one of The Hague’s most iconic monumental buildings. The former KLM headquarters is home to more than 100 hotel rooms and suites, 20 serviced apartments, as well as the beautiful Restaurant Suus and Albert Bar & Lounge at its beating heart.
Plesman Pavilion
Suus is located in the beautifully renovated Plesman Pavilion, connected to the hotel of the same name. Interior studio Nicemakers was responsible for the design, bringing together a mix of wood, green marble, warm fabrics and elegant details. The bar is an eye-catcher, the booths invite long, intimate conversations and the terrace cries out for a summery lunch with rosé.
French foundations, worldly flavours
On the plate: French finesse with international influences. Think steak tartare with crunchy brioche, tomahawk with excellent fries, perfectly cooked sea bass or a risotto with saffron and fennel. The menu feels luxurious yet accessible, just like the restaurant itself. And for wine lovers? Sommelier Priscilla van der Voort’s wine list is a joy, featuring familiar classics and surprising discoveries. The structure of the wine list is fun too, moving from friendly and juicy wines to full-bodied wines and obscure bottles for those who really want to be surprised. And for anyone who wants to drink bubbles without alcohol: the fantastic Copenhagen Sparkling Tea is also on the menu.
Suus is not just a name
The restaurant is named after Suus Plesman, the wife of KLM founder Albert Plesman. In the 1930s, she was a woman who knew how to smooth over business disputes at her dinner table. Her spirit of hospitality and connection now forms the beating heart of Restaurant Suus. And you can feel it: whether you come for a quick pasta or an all-evening dinner, you feel welcome here.
From lunch to late night
Suus is there for every moment. Want to grab a quick bite at the bar? You can. Want to indulge in a four-course menu? That works too. Private dining on the mezzanine or a glass of champagne beforehand in the stylish Albert Bar & Lounge? Why not? This is a place where you’ll want to linger.

Want to take the atmosphere of Suus home with you? Soon you can with Deli Suusje, the hotel’s delicatessen and gift shop, which sells, among other things, the wines you drank with dinner, fresh bread, fine cheeses, delicacies and surprising gifts.
