Colourful dishes in a colourful setting: at the new Tabú in Leiden, you’ll take a culinary journey through South America. According to one of the owners, Tabú is ‘exciting, fresh and sexy, just like Latin America.’ That sounds promising!

What’s New?

After a major renovation, this colourful two-storey restaurant is opening, where you can sample the best of South America. The team has explored the cuisines of various countries and wants to bring the continent’s warm, welcoming atmosphere into the restaurant.

On the menu?

Of course, you can’t avoid the obligatory tacos and quesadillas. The menu also features a fine Uruguayan steak, slow-cooked rump roast and Argentine wild prawns. And definitely order a portion of padrón peppers as a snack or side dish. You won’t want to skip the spicy fries with jalapeño either.

Noteworthy?

It’s not only open for dinner, but also for lunch. Fortunately, you can order those spicy fries then too, as well as sandwiches with corn-fed chicken breast, rocoto pepper, black-eyed peas and mango chutney, or grilled steak, red cabbage, chipotle mayonnaise and chimichurri. There are also plenty of exotic cocktails on the menu.
