New season of Netflix’s Chef’s Table: noodles as the theme
Grand news: Netflix is launching an all-new season of Chef’s Table this autumn. After a two-year TV hiatus, noodles are the theme this time. Doesn’t sound Italian? According to our colleague Sophie from Italiamo, it absolutely is. ‘I always have to laugh at how Italians claim everything as their own and simply call noodles pasta and dumplings ravioli, but apparently they’re not the only ones. Italy plays a prominent role, just as it did last season, because Chef’s Table: Noodles makes plenty of room for an Italian pasta maker.’
Netflix Chef’s Table
Since the first episode in 2015, Chef’s Table has tempted millions of streamers with beautiful cinematography and inspiring stories from the best chefs in the world. Rather than focusing solely on dishes, the series delves into the life stories, passions and cultural influences of these culinary geniuses. So it’s much more than just another cooking show.
From pizza to pasta
In the previous season, Chef’s Table: Pizza, Italy was already well represented by, among others, Franco Pepe and his pizzas from Caiazzo (Campania). Viewers were taken on a gastronomic journey through the world of pizza, where centuries-old traditions were blended with modern techniques.
The new season focuses on noodles, and therefore on pasta too. One of the stars is Peppe Guida, a chef with his own twist on traditional Italian pasta dishes, who cooks for Antica star restaurant Osteria Nonna Rosa in Vico Equense (between Pompeii and Sorrento). Guida is widely known for his fresh take on classic pasta, continuing to experiment without denying the roots of simple and authentic Italian cuisine. In the series, we will see the key moments of his career, from his humble beginnings to his Michelin star.
Chef’s Table: Legends
From October 2, 2024, you can experience the delicious journey yourself on Netflix. Italy is calling, and this time it comes with a steaming plate of pasta. It doesn’t end there, though, because Netflix announced no fewer than three new seasons. Another ‘regular’ season follows in November, and next year, ten years after the first episode featuring Massimo Bottura, Chef’s Table: Legends will be ready for you. I think the name says it all.
