Oh no: these products are temporarily no longer available at AH

There is a dispute between Albert Heijn and the Swiss company Nestlé. The two giants are at odds over a pricing agreement, and as a result, the shelves containing various Nestlé products are temporarily empty.

Smarties, KitKat, (instant) coffee and Maggi bouillon are just some of the products you will now have to buy at another supermarket. Nestlé wants to raise the prices of its products because the raw materials for production have become considerably more expensive. But the two giants disagree precisely about that price increase.
What a load of nonsense
According to AH, the increase is around 20 percent. Far too much, the supermarket chain says. And while AH talks about 20 percent, Nestlé says that the increase is not even that high and calls the claim “far from correct.” The manufacturer does not want to disclose the exact amount out of respect for the negotiations, according to a spokesperson.
Back ASAP
Nestlé is not the only company whose food products are becoming more expensive this year. Unilever, Heineken and Procter & Gamble previously announced that their products would become more expensive in the coming year. For now, Nestlé and Albert Heijn are still in talks, and all we can do is hope that KitKat bars and Rolo rolls will be back on the shelves at AH ASAP.
