Before you start: don’t add sugar, chocolate or raisins to your cake. Sugar is simply not good for dogs, and chocolate and raisins will make them sick. The same goes for dairy products, by the way. Also important: let the cake cool completely before letting your dog attack it.

How to make this delicious dog cake

• Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
• Finely chop the broccoli and carrot in a blender or food processor.
• Add the meat and cooked white rice and finely process everything.
• Add an egg and a splash of oil and purée again.
• If necessary, add some water to make the mixture softer.
• Line a cake tin or springform pan with baking paper.
• Pour the mixture into the pan and place it in the oven.
• Leave it in the oven for 45 minutes.
• If necessary, cover the cake to prevent it from burning.
• In the meantime, make homemade mashed potatoes with unsalted butter and lactose-free milk.
• When the cake is ready, use this layer to cover the sides and top of the cake.
• Decorate with dog biscuits or luncheon meat.
