At One Dim Sum on Amsterdam’s Overtoom, you can eat dishes from Cantonese cuisine all day long.

Don’t go there for the atmosphere, even though they did try to make the interior cozy. So, the focus is really on the food, which you can order for next to nothing. All dishes cost between € 3.50 and € 15.

The dough is somewhat reminiscent of choux pastry and is wonderfully fluffy.

Start simple and order the first dish on the menu: Ha Kau, steamed shrimp in rice dough. The crepes filled with fried dough are a must-try. The dough is somewhat reminiscent of choux pastry and is wonderfully fluffy. You dip them in soy sauce or something spicy and then: the flavor, the texture, the mouthfeel. Yes, perfection. You should definitely also try the coconut dumplings filled with lotus flower paste.

For two euros, you can have a pot of Chinese green or black tea with your meal. It’s simply refilled throughout the evening.  They also have beer and wine, of course.
