Paradise for Tea Lovers: Betjeman & Barton Tea and Delicatessen Shop Amsterdam

Betjeman & Barton winkel Amsterdam

Don’t call it a tea shop, because the new shop from Tea Merchants Betjeman & Barton on Jan Evertsenstraat in Amsterdam sells not only more than 100 types of tea, but also delicacies and tableware. They call it a ‘culinary experience shop’ themselves.

Quality tea brand from Paris

Yes, people, tea is an experience too. And it’s not that I’ve had a really sour cup just now, but I always get a little rebellious when I hear the word ‘experience’. It belongs in the same category as ‘are you familiar with our concept?’. Exhausting. But let’s focus on the tea itself, because it really is top-notch. Betjeman & Barton is a small, authentic quality tea brand from Paris, founded in 1919 by Britons Arthur Betjeman and Percy Barton.

Various tea blends and herbal infusions

You can buy more than 100 types of tea in the new shop. Alongside the classic tea range, they also create various tea blends here. Only natural essences and aromas are added to the flavoured teas. There is also an extensive selection of herbal infusions.

Chocolate & tableware

As well as tea and tea accessories, you can also buy all kinds of things to enjoy with your cup of tea. From preserves by Belberry and Cottage Delight to biscuits by Cartwright & Butler. There is also an extensive selection of chocolate from top brands such as Seed and Bean, Simón Coll and Willie’s Cacao. For a beautifully set table, you can buy tableware from Pols Potten and Urban Nature, cutlery by Sabre, teapots by Bredemeijer and Zero Japan, and textiles by La Cerise sur le Gâteau.

Tea lovers, go!

The Betjeman & Barton shop in Amsterdam is open from Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Saturdays, the shop closes at 5:00 p.m. Of course, you can also visit the webshop 24/7.
