Pay close attention: Kinder chocolate possibly containing salmonella still ended up on Jumbo shelves
Are you a fan of Kinder chocolate? You know, those fun Kinder Surprise eggs and Schokobons? If you recently bought the latter at Jumbo, pay very close attention because of the possible presence of the salmonella bacteria…
Supermarket chain Jumbo has posted an important safety warning on its website. Last April 2022, there was a major recall by parent company Ferrero because salmonella was found in a number of Kinder products.
Still ended up on the shelves
It now appears that a small portion of these products was nevertheless delivered by Jumbo to a number of its stores and ended up on the shelves. That is of course alarming, and it is worth quickly checking the best-before date if you have (bought) a pack of Kinder Schokobons at home.
Check carefully
If this information appears on the packaging, return it directly to a Jumbo store – you will receive a refund of the purchase price:

Sweet consolation
Jumbo says it takes food safety extremely seriously and regrets this incident. We think you deserve a little chocolate after the scare, or even better: a tub of ice cream!
