Ready-to-bake cookie dough

Don’t feel like getting your hands (and kitchen) dirty, but do want your home to fill with the smell of freshly baked cookies? Then Dough-to-go is exactly what you need.

The ready-made dough—for cookies and pies—was developed by Petit gâteau, which you may already know from the shops in the Foodhallen and on Haarlemmerstraat in Amsterdam. Married couple Meike and Patrice sell delicious little pies there, which they affectionately call minimimi’s. If you’ve ever tasted a little pie here, you’ll know that the dough is perfect: crisp and full of flavour.
Prefer savoury? Then head to Pompet in Amsterdam.
Perfect pie dough
Meike recently wrote a book, in which she reveals all the secrets of her pies. Of course, I immediately made the pie dough, and then loudly proclaimed to everyone just how good it was: easy to make and it doesn’t shrink, which is usually my problem with pie dough. Now it can be even easier. With Dough-to-go, all you have to do is bake it.
Lots and lots of cookies
You’ll soon be able to buy the pie dough vacuum-packed in the shop; at home, all you have to do is roll it out, place it in a ring or mould, and bake it. That saves a lot of blood, sweat and tears, and the result is always good. Prefer baking cookies? Super-fast chocolate chip cookies come in white, milk, dark and trippel (a combination of all three) chocolate flavours. Or go for the pecan or speculaas variety; with the latter, you even get a lovely mould. Put the dough in the oven and tell all your guests that you’ve been slaving away all day.
Coming soon
You’ll have to wait just a little longer: Meike still needs to buy a machine that packages all the dough beautifully. Luckily, she recently won the Kweker Food Pitch, in which the Amsterdam wholesaler awards a prize for the tastiest product of 2018. Besides being added to the Kweker range, she also receives a cash prize, which she can now use to pay for that machine. We’ll be lining up already for when it’s ready, probably at the end of summer.
