Really delicious supermarket pancakes do exist: OaYeah! pancakes made with oat drink

We’ve discovered something new: OaYeah!, the first and only ready-to-eat pancakes and American-style pancakes in the supermarket made with oat drink. And they’re incredibly delicious.

We can already hear you saying: ‘homemade pancakes are much tastier!’ Sure, that may well be true, and the same goes for small pancakes (especially with these pancake tips), but sometimes you don’t have the time or inclination, and that’s when the new OaYeah! pancakes are a truly delicious alternative.

Homemade oat drink

There are two varieties: regular pancakes and small, fluffy pancakes. They are made with homemade oat drink and contain less sugar and saturated fat than chilled supermarket pancakes made with cow’s milk. As a result, OaYeah! pancakes have a Nutri-Score B. (This is, incidentally, the same score as a frozen pizza, which is why there is quite a lot of controversy surrounding the Nutri-Score; it is said to make people less informed.)

A sustainable choice

Besides their delicious taste, there is also a sustainability claim: OaYeah! pancakes are said to produce much less CO2e emissions than regular pancakes (if you want to know more, take a look here.) In any case: open a pack, heat the pancakes in a pan with a little butter and top them with syrup or powdered sugar, or make savoury pancakes by adding, for example, cheese (and let it fry until deliciously crisp, mmm!) or salmon. The fluffy pancakes also work well as either a savoury or sweet option. With forest fruits and whipped cream, for example, or with cream cheese and avocado.
