Recipe: cheese tortellini with garlic butter sauce

During our ongoing quest for comfort food, which can also be translated as “how can I combine as much cheese and garlic as possible, preferably with some butter too, in one meal?”, we found this super-easy recipe for tortellini with garlic butter sauce.

You can make this recipe from Culinary Hill with ingredients that keep well, or that you may already have at home. With a starring role for the underrated cornstarch!
How to make cheese tortellini in garlic butter sauce
- Cook the tortellini in a large pot of water according to the instructions on the package.
- Drain.
- Meanwhile, whisk the stock and cornstarch together in a bowl or measuring jug.
- Heat the butter in a large frying pan with high sides over medium heat until foaming, stir in the garlic and dried basil, and gently fry for about 2 minutes.
- Add the stock-cornstarch mixture and stir well until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked tortellini and toss well until the sauce coats all the pasta.
- Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese and some torn basil leaves.
- Delicious with a glass of Sangiovese!
