feed me crap

Recipe: gummy bear crêpe

gummibear pannenkoek

A pregnancy cookbook, but not one of those eye-roll -inducing books with nothing but healthy chia pancake variations: Pascal Rotteveel asked pregnant women what the most INSANE thing they crave is. Driven by culinary amazement (and a little disgust), he created this brilliant book full of ‘crazy pregnancy cravings’, with tips on how to get started yourself. (Not to get pregnant, but to put together such a bewildering snack yourself).

How to make the gummy bear crêpe

  • Mix the flour, eggs and milk in a large bowl until you have a smooth batter (go ahead and use a mixer).
  • Stir in the cinnamon.
  • Pour a full ladleful of batter into a hot frying pan and let it sit for a moment before sprinkling the gummy bears on top when the bottom is almost dry and the top is still wet.
  • If you’re not only pregnant but also obsessive-compulsive, put only red bears in the pan. Or orange. Or green, for a little peace of mind. If you love surprises, hide the bears under a little more batter.
  • Flip the pancake and make sure it is cooked through.

Tip: if you already have children, make this when they’re not around. Otherwise, you’ll have to share.
