At the school cafeteria, at the kiosk in the station or simply from the local bakery, sausage rolls are available everywhere. And from now on, you can also conjure them up in your own kitchen, because homemade is just that much tastier (and easier)!

How to make the sausage rolls

  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the frozen puff pastry sheets next to each other on the work surface to thaw.
  • Finely chop the parsley, peel and press the garlic, and beat the egg in a small bowl.
  • Put the ground meat, parsley, garlic, half of the egg, cinnamon, paprika, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl and knead well, so that the meat is mixed with the herbs and spices.
  • Divide the meat into eight equal portions and shape them into sausages.
  • Place the meat on one half of a sheet of puff pastry and fold the other half over it. Press the edges together firmly with a fork.
  • Repeat this with the remaining puff pastry sheets and place the sausage rolls on the baking sheet.
  • Brush the rolls with the remaining egg.
  • Bake the sausage rolls for about 20 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
