Rotterdam and Utrecht Also Get Gin Festival

gin festival

Gin lovers, pay attention: the Gin Festival is expanding! Not only will the third edition in Amsterdam be bigger than ever, but in June the festival is also heading to Utrecht and Rotterdam.

Masterclasses, seminars, speakers and – what else could it be – tastings. With 120 (!!) different gins from 50 different producers and suppliers, you can crawl home.

Organizer Albert van Beeck-Calkoen: ‘The gin trend is in its second wave this year: the gin and tonic category in particular is growing exponentially outside Amsterdam. That is why we decided to expand the festival to Utrecht and Rotterdam.’

Gin boat

In Utrecht, the Gin Festival will set up in the old prison on Wolvenplein, while in Rotterdam the Cruise Terminal will be transformed into a gin wonderland. In Amsterdam, the festival will take place – just like the previous times – at Undercurrent in Noord. The free ‘Gin boat’ shuttles between Central Station and the festival grounds (we have to disappoint you: it isn’t a boat where you can drown in liters of free gin, but simply a little ferry that takes you directly to the festival).

Of course, you need to eat something substantial first before all that alcohol. That is why the festival grounds feature not only drink stands but also various food trucks, ranging from burgers to tacos and dim sum. The selection differs by festival location.

Program

Tickets for the Gin Festivals are available from €19.99. The tickets include the masterclasses, seminars and workshops, as well as tastings of the various drinks. A small contribution is charged for mixes. The exact program will be announced one week before the start via the website.
