Salted caramel pepernoten

van delft salted caramel pepernoten

From September onwards, the shops are already packed with a thousand varieties of pepernoten, and salted caramel naturally cannot be missing from the selection. The very best? Those from Van Delft, which you can simply get at Albert Heijn.

To be honest, I’m a little over salted caramel. I don’t really need salted caramel on my ice cream, in my chocolate, in my brownie, and on my pepernoten. But when these pepernoten were sitting in a bowl in the editorial office, I suddenly couldn’t stop eating them.

Cheap is expensive in the end

You do pay €4 for a bag, so they’re not exactly cheap. Still, I much prefer a small bag of this amazing snack to five large bags of something else. Van Delft even claims to be the ‘official supplier to Sinterklaas’. Well, then it must be absolutely fine, right?

The pepernoten are sold at all branches of the Van Delft pepernoten factory, which can be found throughout almost the entire country. For convenience, they’re also available at some Albert Heijn locations, although I had to visit three branches before I found them. Shame on you, Appie! Fortunately, you can also order them from Van Delft’s webshop.

By the way, this post isn’t sponsored; we didn’t even receive a bag. I actually spent €8 to photograph the pepernoten in question. Fortunately, I was allowed to eat them all afterwards.
